I'm left wondering how his name is connected to a noob move like leaving your gates open, and keys sitting out in the open. If this were to happen to any of the blocklanders he would surely ridicule them!

OP was killed. I will not go in depth on how just yet. OP has stolen from our village and a handfull of other villages in the area. He then attempted to spam hearthfires outside of our close neighbors (village in OP) in order to gain access to and raid it.
