Our first experiment with beds was actually tested first at Jorb's testing area in which we reported. The cliffing at BHB was a failure.

That's what I don't get really. Everyone always gets up in arms whenever someone exploits a new bug with "I HOPE YOU REPORTED IT FIRST YOU FUCKING SCUM!" when in reality everyone knows that reporting bugs does absolutely nothing, especially if it's only reported in the IP where regular users would still be unaware of the bug or how to defend against it. Everyone seems set on the "honorable" method is to report it, and then abuse it. Well, what's the leeway for reporting a bug and then using it? Can I report a bug 20 minutes prior to abusing it? Do I have to wait a day? I don't really understand why "reporting" is the free ticket out of jail when it essentially means nothing. So what if the people that raided Winterfell reported the bug the day before? It wouldn't have changed anything that happened with the resulting drama. USING bugs gets them fixed, not reporting them, especially now when jorbtar's efforts are almost entirely focused on Salem.

I don't have a problem with bug abusers or bug unabusers, I just don't understand how one group can feel all righteous about doing the exact same thing as the others, but uses "reporting" which apparently has no grace period or effect in desolate dev forum as a moral high ground.

I think someone else can explain it better than I do, probably the devs themselves, but it has something to do with their low enforcement policy where policing every single exploit would be eating too much of their time which is used for development. An example of this is when palisade's soak got increased dramatically and griefers were using people's own palisade cornerpost to seal the inhabitants in (this was when there was no option to seal cornerpost). They cannot go around and freeing every person that is calling out for help so they created the option to seal the cornerpost but no longer will free people from the palisade griefing.

In spite of all of this though, the bug policy is being discussed as some of us want the lax changed.

AD never used exploits, eh? Both factions always used them to get an advantage against everyone else. Both had botted chars in the past. I wonder which kind of bugs they're abusing right now.

Do you have any proof besides your meaningless words?

And AD stole most bots from Sodom. Ask eL_Diablo ;)
Sodom botted with dreamcatcher in w3. One time botter, always botter.

Not that I care one way or the other, but why were you experimenting with methods to cliff jump against BHB? You guys always rag on people for not reporting bugs before exploiting them (which in itself is a whole other conversation. Everyone knows that exploiting bugs is what eventually gets them fixed, not reporting them), so what were you going to do if you were successful with your experiments? Hearth back home and report the bug?

How else do you catch bugs, by means other than experimenting? We did it to see if it would work. Never had we gotten over a cliff or wall before with this proposed bed jumping method, so we tried it. It failed, unsurprisingly.

Yet AD morons think we were bug abusing or some shit. Show me the logic in that.

P.S. el_diablow, why so silent?
P.P.S. What about all of those methods of bug abusing by reincarnation in mines AD used to fuck up world 4?
P.P.P.S. Yeah you did ruin World 4.
