stickman wrote:And I mainly blame this on russians for killing koreans/japanese in w3.. which forced them to stick together.

in w3, we started Oedo, Japanese-speakers/learners only village, but that was because our initial leader, yolan, wanted it that way for his japanese lesson or whatever, and told everyone to speak only in Japanese on village chat. (and then later he quit.) that allowed players who dont understand English to join in. he wanted us to gather as many japanese players as possible, no english skills asked. even then, we had aus, american, and korean.
we had 4-5 russian neigbours living on the same island, but a few weeks after we had a bit of friendly conversation with them, they moved away, never wanted to play with us, it seemed. (i still dont know why.)

when w4 was starting though, ex-oedo villagers couldnt join other village because of language barrier.
nobody really want to accept players who cannot communicate in english well enough, you know, for many reasons.
it is not anyone's fault, that is just the way it is. so they either quit or made their own. i started hermitting for my own fun.
genocide in the past can be a reason for some, but not for all.

one jap village i know dont try to be exclusive, always willing to be friends with others, try to communicate in english too, but things dont go too easy and just ends up just sticking each other, never on purpose.

so, i think, the situation is the same, or at least similar for many koreans and russians.

the difference is that some russian players are super-prejudiced and paranoid to believe they were hated by the whole community for being russian, when a few kill them or raid them and take it too serious hearing them speak ill of them. if they actually see it non-biased, they can see that not only russians are murdered and raided and spoken ill of, by pvp loving players for no particular reasons.

back on topic,
so, where does the scent lead you to, pain?

All of my good trackers are dead now. -83, -86 are the town coords if anyone wants to track them. There's still a couple of guys living there but they haven't logged on in weeks. Enjoy, I'm sure they left about 1,000 scents.

Saying u are going to kill all russians u see makes u worst than the bad russians, and forces good russians to ally with the bastards. I suggest to stop the bullshit around russian community, not all russians are raiders there are some good guys around. You are just helping them to get more allyes.

I think most of the russians are probably good guys, its just this "Russian alliance" or whatever the hell they're calling themselves is giving the nice russian community a bad name =\

That could be argued back and forth between the people involved forever

can we quit naming people "good" and "bad" that seriously? im starting to feel real itchy here 8-)
most players are nice chatting with on IRC out of game(though ofc there are exceptions), we all know that.
we all are roleplaying with our own different situations in game.

Aracos, its great that youre going for justice all the time, and i admire that, but i believe pain is old enough to know the consequences his words bring him and still speaks that way to attract some kids. we know from his previous posts that its just his style now, just like kLauE often says "kill all russian scum" and people dont blame him for saying that, cause we all know its useless, and we dont expect him to change his style.

and yeah, i had never hit anyone before, no crimes ever, but a Russian hit my noob village and shot me for fun :)
so thirty-seven's "Russians never hit first" is false, definitely.
but, as Onionfighter said, i was stupid enough to be content with just palisades when i knew there were palibashers.

Like all politics, it boils down to money. The stronger Russian players are doing everything in their might to keep the general Russian population away from the free market, so that they have no choice but to buy from them at extortionate prices. Just the other day I read on H&H.ru how Portgas and Co killed someone for the terrible crime of trading with non-Russians. The whole Russia vs everyone else thing was started and is being aggressively maintained (seriously, you should read the things they say about the bourgeois bogeymen) by a bunch of thugs hell-bent on exploiting the common Russian players. So yeah, it's basically Russian Mafia.
