But what IF it had worked?

People reamed the guys who raided Winterfell because they didn't "report" the bug first, like that makes some huge difference in the grand scheme of things.

I have no problem with what you guys did or what you continue to do, I just don't really see the difference between one or the other.

Honestly we probably wouldn't have entered, but I cannot speak for everyone. The reasons for this are as follows:

1. The danger of entering the base one by one as an army.
2. AD could have come and destroyed our beds the moment of our entering the vault.
3. When we were bed testing we were under-armed, only like 6 people. When we did the brickbashing we had about double that.

I think he was meaning of why report the bug when nothing is done about it in lieu to people's reaction to people exploiting the bug and the difference it makes if it was reported before or not. When major bugs are exploited and posted, they tend to be fixed in a hurry. This instance as well as Sarchi's public posting of the hearth-fire exploit in world 4 got the bugs fixed in a hurry. The more it changes the world, the faster it is prioritized.

I think what it breaks down to is an insubstantial that is difficult to explain or prove: intent. The intent of the players needs to be benign when dealing with bugs or else it becomes something worth getting chewed out over. If you're hiding a bug, working around technicalities, or heavily exploiting a very abusive bug before it can be fixed then what you're doing is outright malicious. Unfortunately, most other cases are not as cut and dry.

Everything in OP is, honestly, just silly and I'm sorry to see them harboring feelings like this for so long and over so many details.
Now, whether Former-Sodom members have been well meaning in their bug testing/usage is really only something they can tell us. Their reputation is all that we have to judge them by.

In my opinion, they've acted in the interest of the game as a whole and don't deserve anyone getting on their case too hard. That said, I'm sure there are instances when they've pushed the bug abuse to the limits as well but nothing has come to light to the effect of entirely discrediting their good nature.
I apologize if this is setting the bar too high for what qualifies as reason to distrust or hate someone but otherwise fairly minor accusations and mud-slings are reason enough to hate most players.

I think TechXKnight pretty much summarized this entire thread as a whole pretty well. I also want to add that while this is a competitive type game, it is still a game and not something to hold malice or grudge over. Doing so is simply causing stress to oneself and is not worth it.

Diablo I don't understand why you are so butthurt, everything you ever did good you stole from us anyway, you spied on us and almost all of your bots were results of me and Dataslycer talking in skype chat.

Your logs clearly show that (as proven earlier in this thread) we had tried it before AND reported it to work through black tiles, we were testing it on the wall I wouldn't have gone in, it wouldn't have been safe at all to unload warriors 1 at a time inside, we were grossly unprepared at that point and simply testing things out.

As for in general, who cares that we abuse bugs, we play by the rules set before us, report it, then use it. I'm really not sure why you haven't been able to simply deal with it.

The only thing that I enjoyed about this thread was how the OP reminded me of their fort at Ironcliff. I remember how JoeBlade (Dizzy) was popping in and out of the minehole while taunting us outside. We let him get comfortable with his 'tricks' and about the 7th or 8th time he popped out an arrow put him on his ass. GAME OVER

Here is what I understand about Sodom and AD:

-Sodom will find a bug, report it, get their capes/etc etc and abuse if needed until fixed
-AD will find a bug, will not report it, and will abuse it until they are caught... then they will lie about ever using it or claim they reported it months ago.

To prove my point.... you just posted 2 battles which you denied being involved in... and yet your there... I just feel so sorry for all the retards who actually beleive anything you guys say. its just kinda pathetic really...
