I think you got wrong formulas. Swords don't do piercing damage, and getting 1000+ total armour is piss easy, so if it was that little all sword blows would just glance off, which from my experience isn't the case.

Are you sure that you had all armor still on when you took the blow? They might have removed it with theft before finishing you.

Yeah, he stung me with all my armor on, he just took off my merch/monocle/stuff
