Wherever you move you may very well consider having an actual villlage claim, otherwise this sort of thing could happen again. We're continually heading East/SE in that direction, we go around claims as best we can, even pclaims, we just simply couldn't go around yours and claim where we wanted to be by the end of today (near that grey swamp).
Still, if you want, I would be willing to break the statue, all you gotta do is ask, as long as you're still gonna use the spot we have no intention of getting in your way or messing with hermits in the area. Just need to expand.

edit: If you go back to it or whatever and decide this, just shoot me a PM
After cooling off, I understand that you couldn't have gone around.
I'm scouting different supergrids in the area thought I do like that one, I was already considering hermiting myself on a mountain...
There is a Mountain with Thicket near it, just northwest of the swamp. Do you have any plans for that area?
We typically vclaim to put CRs down, not to claim the whole damn thing.
With that said as Sarchi said we prefer to keep swamps/mountains in tact (not built on) as to not reduce the tiles we can hunt curios on. Got no problem with anyone living on the edge of a mountain or anything, hell, we have people living right on the edge of our nearest mountain, we simply told them from the get go, don't build ON the mountain.
Now, we're not going to hunt you down and kill you for building on the mountain it's just a courtesy we expect, don't go destroying something you can't bring back on a whim or a "because I want to live there", because when you leave in the end, we have to deal with the fact that half our mountain is now paved ground and unusable for foragables, this especially hurts when people do it over the higher Q areas on the mountain (as has had with one of ours and we had to destroy everything there to make our point, because it was already under our claim).
Wherever you go in the world I suggest if you live near swamps/mountains, never live 'on' them.
