Well, the reason you are a 'dick' was because you did not trust your village. Not letting your villagers on the claim and blocking your house with your hearth demonstrates a lack of trust in the other members. you may have impulsive issues and some communication misgivings, but it is the lack of trust that hits home. The villagers had a good reasons for seeking a change in your behaviour for that alone--but death was a bit too much. Effective problem solving is a hard skill to come by in the Hearthlands.
i have no doubt that you are hard working, rozn and others have vouched for you. Good to know you got your account back, to bad it was fragged, that was a low blow.

The joy of freedom and will. We are allowed to execute and exact what we think is best on not only ourselves but others. Combined with many different world views and experiences and it's a fun mixture.
The catch is that we always have to be sure we don't take anything beyond the mechanics or intentions of the game. We've all agreed to play the game so what happens in the game is well and fine for the most part. We have not agreed to ante with our personal information or account information though. So hating someone in the game should never become taking it out on them in real life. Steal from their character not from their account.

Very few people said killing him was unjustified. The majority said stealing his account was unjustified.

Somehow I highly doubt you "read it all".

And apparently the guy is a bad sport, but Vigilance and Regnay acted like complete twats. The reason you two returned his account is because the forums were calling you out on it, if not for that you'd have kept it and continued being smug little bullies taunting the guy.

Shitheads.

Why didn't you guys just destroy his hf and exile him, so he couldn't spawn in the village?

Its hard when different people have different conceptions of private property. Some people will want their own cupboard that no-one else can enter, others want a cabin, others want a whole plot. It sounds like you told him that hf-blocking his cabin was not allowed in your village, then you gave him 5 minutes(!) to move it, he said he would probably leave the village - fair enough, he doesn't share your feelings on privacy. So why kill him?

Its hardly because you couldn't defend yourselves from any possible revenge attack - sounds like Vigilance would be able to back you up if needed.

Also, taking his account and killing him down to 10 in all stats is truly vile.

so Regnay, you're the LS right? Who is the chief?

I don't give two fucks about the forums 'calling me out' on 'stealing' the account. Like I said, Mithos felt bad, so I agreed and we returned the account. I couldn't give any less of a shit on anyone's opinions. ;)

Because you said "those". And only one person expressly said it wasn't justified. But re-reading your post, I actually have no problem with what you said and you probably did "read it all". And I wasn't calling you a shithead, shithead.

And if they want to post about screwing over some guy by hijacking his account instead of just killing him and laughing about it, I'm going to call them out on it. You can take someone's life in-game, but stealing their account is absolute garbage. And I guarantee the outrage of the forums played a part in the restitution despite what the OP says.
