I don't want to bother them anymore. What made things so bad for me, I think, was that I had a crush on one of the villagers so when I left it felt like a breakup. I still don't understand what I did that was so bad, other than overreacting.

i do not mind some people enjoying some online love romance when they can keep it to themselves and/or not trouble others and village business, but i mind your style and your love-horror story (which was deleted).

I'm glad it was deleted, because it was ridiculous. I just really needed to get the story off my chest and that thread was a sort of outlet for me. I had nobody to talk to but I was hurting like hell, I needed to do something about it . In hindsight, I should probably have gone to see a therapist... When I made that thread, I was an emotional wreck. I couldn't sleep, I felt like puking all the time, and I don't know how many times I cried. It was stupid. Stupid, stupid, stupid and I just wish I could erase that part of my history. I'm really ashamed of it.

By fairness I meant the balance between rangers and thieves. The theft skill is in the game, so Jorb definitely doesn't mind it.

Exactly. From this day on, your word is completely worthless to me, and I'm sure the rest of the community feels the same. You will never again be welcome in polite company, even in other games (you're from B12 IIRC so it's not unlikely for us to run into each other in other games).

As for your village mates, unless they fully cooperate with Satori (ie provide your description and all the intel they have on you) they are your accomplices and fully deserve to have their village razed to the ground and the ground sown with salt.

Even in other games? You're very funny. I highly doubt that people of the bay 12 forums (other than you and your friends) care about what I do in this game. Besides, I use a different name on bay12. Also I really wish you would stop threathening me. Yes, I know you want me and everyone who has ever come in contact with me dead, no need to repeat it ad infinitum. Bring it on. My village will probably cooperate with you, I understand and don't mind if they do. I wasn't very close to anyone, they have no reason to protect me.

dont know why you are still failing to get this. Yeah, theft skill is in the game. Also ranging skill is in the game. So there is balance.

On the forums you are free to create as many alts as you like. However, if you use them to steal, if the mods are not allowed to out you, then the situation is completely imbalanced in favour of the thief - there is no equivalent of ranging on the forums...

Also, can't believe you are actually suggesting we should scent the items we trade with as a form of "security". Doing that would mean that noone would ever want to trade with us, since we can then very easily obtain the location of their village... This has already been used this world for raiding, and I would not trust any trader that does it.

Trader should protect himself by ingame methods. Moreover, there are million ways to protect himself in such a way.
Build small brickwall around claim, recieve customers on that claim (so they would be inside the brickwall), take their goods by alt, teleport to your heart outside, take your goods and teleport alt back to village claime - that what i would do, if i was a trader, i invented this shit in a minute, and i think it works almost ideally. But nevermind, if it will fail, anyone could invent more protected way to trade.

Traders are not in any way holy cows, there should be a way to rob the trader, if he doing mistakes, why not? I could understand, if you said "there are no way to protect trade by ingame means", but there are plenty ways to do that.

If the trader had the slightest bit of commen sense none this drama would be a issue, being that he's a trusted trader theres no reason for him to drop his gear first, i'm sure he's learnt a good lesson

afaik, our forum mods are here to clean garbages and encourage dramas so that jorb can enjoy it here.

it is true that Satori should have known the risk, but that doesnt mean the abuser should be left alone when mods can help.

It was a decision to be made and it had precedent and discussion backing it up. There are no strict guidelines for rulings like this-- if any guidelines at all really, so Burg made the best decision he could with all things presented. Mods have always acted to out alt abuse like this on the forums and while Jackard is generally the most active on the subject, any of the Mods can take the same role.

I don't think it's fair to pick at Burg or the moderators in general based on this. There was nothing inherently right or wrong about the choice. What would be fair is to maybe discuss and develop some basic philosophy as to whether actions of alt-abuse in circumstances like this should be condoned or actively brought down and why.

Just because there are in-game mechanics surrounding dealing with criminal activities, does that really justify allowing thief alts to harass and rob merchants on the forums? As Burg pointed out, given the hostility of our current world for all sorts of reasons both intentional and not, merchants are something of a prized commodity. Do they deserve a bit of an exception from the cutthroat nature of HnH so as to facilitate growth and posterity? In the sense of dealing with these forum cases.

I'm a bit worried it breeds a false sense of security and safety where there isn't one but I'd rather people be a bit naive than not trading at all.

That's like, if i would plan to create char and slowly infiltrate him into Pande - that doesnt mean, that i'm lier. Even not mentioning the fact, that spy games would make the game thousand times more interesting.

If Satory asked me to help him punish thieves ingame, i would definitely help him (would i still played).
But mods should not do the same out of game.
Just imagine, that you have asked devs about the same - reveal the main account of some thief. How do you think, what would they answer you?
