Yes, it was the most elementary of noob mistakes so let this be a lesson to you, the things that will get you in this game will never be quite so simple as a bear or some guy ambushing you. At least not late game. I had it in my mind as I oathed back to make damned sure and build another fire and...just didn't. Cest la vie.
