You'll end up annoying your self in the end. You spend so much effort to destroy a mountain and the superpwer just spend a few banners and move to the next one faster than you can destory 1 mountain. In the end you only going to annoy yourself and everyone else for what you do.

Well, nobody is trying to vclaim the swamps near my home yet... so it's just theorycrafting right now. And as far as I can see, the pandas are being pretty diplomatic in their expansion.

Which is a good thing in my opinion.

It wont do they any good if they displace every settlement hermit village in their path. Most of thse is a source of trade, they are in need of metal and can supply stuff they need so I think a mutal understanding between them is actually benifiting to both sides in the long run.

We always try to solve things diplomatically first and involve our neighbours into our business despite what lies some slenderous tongues try to spread about us. Just ask the good people living at the Ring of Brodgar how a potentially dangerous situation turned into the opportunity to live in a new kind of experimental town in the future for them.

Expansion is of course a problem some people around big powers have to deal with especially since authority is easy to maintain and alot of it needed to remove huge alt claims this world. While in world 3 we usually removed every banner between the town and the spot we wanted to reach, this world it is all different. So it is not a very wise attotude of David to insult Goliath before trying to get him to improve the situation. As people have seen in this thread we are always willing to talk things over, we even have the vision of some kind of supergrid kingdom where others can live under our village claim (if only there were better game mechanics for that...) so just talk to us in a calm and collected manner. I am sure we always will find some kind of compromise then.

Trying to paint us as evil just because we expan is silly. Everyone in this game is occupying chunks of land and of course an organized and ambitious group of 50 people will claim more than 2 farmers trying to maintain some m² of crops.

Did you know that the Mitochondria wasn't originally part of what will later become the human cell ? It was an external bacteria that got incorporated at the very beginning of life.

As of today, thousands years later, multi cellular beings reign over the world. And the external bacteria that got incorporated is still part of the human cell. It has become essential in fact.

I think we understand each other ;)

EDIT for burgingham who ninja'd me : no David is insulting no Goliath here, nor "depicting you as evil". You can relax really.

I will say I am slightly annoyed that so many of the good to decent players in the game have united into one village or under one banner. Takes the "Game of Thrones" aspect completely out of Haven.

World 3's Bottleneck v Sodom v Xanadu v eventually AD, with side powers like The Lost Caverns, Hivemind, New CockHaven (yes I threw my town in there fuck off), etc. had so much more intrigue, diplomacy, faction fucking and scandal.

sorry if im wrong, but i believe there are Bottleneck, Pandemonium, Goons, and this new Russian Alliance, with some side powers, and i think they are showing some activities going on, though it may not be too obvious.
(not really sure about Goons, but i see many new players coming in to IRC to join very often, to make me think so.)

BN and Panda are allies. Goons imo are just minding their own business mostly, and not getting into the public ICA drama. And this new "Russian Alliance" is just a bunch of different people from different villages mostly allied military-only, so they are not up to the challenge for large villages.

Also, acting like dick from the first move leaves pretty much no space for diplomacy or politics. It's just enemies since day 1.

Your are ignorant of both the politics of W3 and of W5. There are many many other strong factions out there in the world now, some I'm sure are silent and growing. I honestly haven't a clue what ql benchmarks people have reached, but I also know that 4 weeks ago there were guys out there with already 20 million LP living in hermit villages. There are plenty of decent players out there who aren't in our village.

Now, I must also say that this world is not mature enough to bring factions into betrayal and scandal, "intrigue" as you call it. If you notice most of the most interesting things happened in the last 2-3 months of world 3. Shit is just not going to happen now, especially because there are few updates and loftar and jorb aren't adding new things to the game to give other factions a chance to obtain HQ items too. (I'm talking specifically about the metal spiraling mechanic added in late W3 which added, really, a whole new dimension to the ql race)
