armoured sword guy on river

so i was out hunting when this guy in full steel armour and a sword comes out...i was already in combat with a boar..with another villager...so he warps back and i go down the river to avoid said person...as he says hello and follows me...then says hes not a bad person and wants to help me...
so i wasnt abt to chat and take the risk, so i eventually lost combat with the boar got my boat and hearthed away.

but i kinda now want to know if this guy was actually trying to help or whether he would have killed me had i stopped.

so if ure said person who saw me and another person on a boat attacking a boar let me know:P

Sounds like he is trying to be your friend. I do this a lot, but about 50% of people run. Others will be brave enough to talk.

There is a likely chance that he means no harm as someone that does may have probably attacked you while you were busy with the boar. That is the typical case. For the less typical case though, social engineering.

he turned up just as i threw the stone and i saw him and moved. i think he probably could have engaged attack, but the only ppl ive met with a sword have lunged at me to kill me...so i didnt really want to risk it.

but when i read the area chat after he did seem to want to be friendly, i just didnt catch half of what he said till i hearthed back sadly

didnt sound like a native english speaker and the area was a relative distance to where my village is

a few hours ago i came across a guy in farmers hat. i was tracking murder/thief and asked him if he knew any big city's in the area that would be capable of murder and thief on the scale that it was in the area...all he repeated was plz dont kill me. no matter how many times i said i wont..in the end i was so frustrated that i ko'd him. karma.

moral of the story; in the times where you are brave enough not to hearht, you make sure you play your part well, dont just cry. act confident

When i see someone with bow or sling, i try to move around him.
If it's always staring at me then he's aiming to me... So time to run. (or go crush him...)

But really if you have a boat, what can a swordsman do to you?
And why loosing time speaking? He may just have run to you...
Also, if he was aggressive he would probably have engaged fight from distance so you wouldn't have been able to teleport.

Social engineering works with marksman who want you to talk to you so you don't move while he's aiming to you.
