Alt vaulting is a cheap and lame mean to keep your things safe and make it so that a raid has little to no consequences at all.

I had a hearthvault, with no valuables inside. Only reason i had a hearthvaul was just really for the sake of having one. I built it in the last couple of weeks playing this game, never did i really used it.

While i ran my village, the pearls, silver and steel were not alt vaulted, and had i find any gold, it wouldn't be vaulted either. If i ever got raided all that shit would be gone. In fact one time when we thought we were goin to get raided, we moved most of our valuables to an underground claim, from seeds to metals, anvils and even a herbalist table. never once did we alt vaulted our goods. We never even bothered to alt vault the shit we stole.

So yes, despite having a heartvault which i never used, im entitled to bust this guys balls for being a pussy. Any alt of any kind is for pussies.
Sure i used a key alt once. but i aint a pussy no more.
