Crazy Jungle Hermit Shack up for sale!

Postby Markoff_Chaney » Tue May 31, 2011 7:07 am

Due to conditions in the meatspace, I'll be without computer access for an indeterminate period of time. And when I come back, I probably won't have as much time to devote to gaming. I won't have time to carefully maintain a fort, feed my cows, and farm my flax. So instead of being a hermit, I plan on wandering the hearthlands.

This means that my home, my humble oasis amongst the chaos of the thicket, is for sale.

As you can see, my fort is essentially a giant "fuck you" to Mother Nature. Originally, I had settled at the southern tip of my peninsula. I lived a happy noobish life. Then--after being robbed by a player and brutalized by a boar--I cut down all the trees on that peninsula, moved north into the jungle, and struck the goddamned Earth. I haven't looked back since.

I'm not asking for an in-game trade; as a wanderer, I'll soon have no need to hoard wealth. And I'm not asking for real-life cash, since that's just tacky. Instead, I'll trade you my home for your stories. I've had a lot of good memories in my secluded little fort. And I want to find a new tenant who'll treat my home as good as it's treated me. Convince me that you deserve it, and I'll hand you the keys. It's just that easy.

Post your replies in this thread.

Just to clarify a few things:

1. This is a limited time offer. I plan on declaiming the fort within the next few days. So it will slowly decay if I haven't already found a new tenant by then. Plus, the cows are being feed low Q feed. So that can't be good for them.

2. The livestock (three cows and three sheep), the crops, and everything are included. It's all yours. :D A word of caution though: I hoarded crap like a bag lady stocking up for the apocalypse. I also don't believe in organizing my loot. So good luck with that.

3. One more condition. You might have noticed that the thicket on my peninsula is already partially deforested. I've always planned on deforesting the rest, but I never got around to it. Consider that your rent. You must chop down all the trees within the thicket on this side of the river. If you haven't done that by the time I've returned to HnH, I retain the right to "evict" you.

 Aw, shucks guys. And people say the HnH community is mean. If you keep this sentimental crap up, you'll lose your tough reputation.

Just to put your minds at ease, you don't have to worry about me leaving for good. I'll be back (by popular demand, if for no other reason  ). I'm hooked on this game. It's fascinating to see how social norms develop from a state of (digital) nature. Or, in simpler terms: I like drama. And this whole game is the Mr. Fusion of drama. No matter what you put into it, it'll generate "Baww" and "Lol".

But back to the point, people. I'm selling my house for the low, low price of nothing. All you have to do is convince me that you'll put it to good use. That's a good deal, even in today's real estate market. Any takers?

"Alt (not included)" ... lol ... Why not? ;)

I got some characters doing nothing (other than pissing of wandering stray trespassers that take a peek behind my door) relatively nearby (1SG ... Erm diagonal, so make that 2SG's by boat.
So ... If you can't find anyone ... I don't mind taking a shot at it. ... mmm, that's a lot of tree's. Well at least I have no wood shortage that way. :D
