I am situated in a less-than-desirable area, according to what I've been told. I am close to a river bank and not very far away from some Russian Raiders' nests. I want to move somewhere else. Maybe a village that needs a new member.

But I've also got a shipload of crap - seeds, furniture, rare valuables a friend gave me, etc - that I would like to take with me. An oxcart seems the best way to do this. And with a little more XP, I might actually be able to make an oxcart. Very soon.

But I have 15 strength and less than 6 unarmed combat, and 5 marksmanship. I stand no chance against a fox, much less an aurochs. Even if I could trap one, I couldn't get an advantage on it. Most of my tools and materials are shoddy - less or hovering around quality 10 (to give you some perspective). So to capture an aurochs (which I have yet to even see in-game, although I have - finally - seen hoardes of chickens) would be a Herculean task for me.

You know how you said I was too far away to trade before? I've totally got a cow you can have for free if you come and get it. I've got a dairy herd, in fact. But I imagine the distance is EVEN LONGER with an animal trailing along behind you.

I don't know if you've got Ender's client yet, but I'm pretty sure you REALLY wouldn't want to do that walk in the default client, far too much chance for things to eat you!

You *can* tame aurochs, you just need to trap them first.

Wouldn't it be easier to make a couple of large chests (or coffers if you don't have metal), stick two of them in a boat and just teleport to the idol of your new village?
If the village is too far away, just get 25 strength (or a pickaxe) and destroy your hearthfire -- that way you can teleport to idol no matter how far away the village is.

And if you have more stuff that doesn't fit in two containers, just make courier alts.
