Beginner's Guide to Trading
First off you're going to need a Village Idol, access to chief/Lawspeaker powers and alt with a destroyed hearth fire. It's polite to have the HF destroyed before starting the trade and makes things go much more quickly.
How village hopping works: You make a party with the LS/Chief from both towns in it as well as the alt that is jumping. To invite, click the "Oath of Allegiance" button in the governing tab and click on the picture of the person you want to invite (in the top left hand corner of the screen). This will *only* work if both the person you are inviting and yourself are on the same "plane". That is to say, both people outside, both people on layer 1 of the underworld, etc. For trading it's best to have everyone outside.
Make sure you check all of your goods before finalizing the deal. And have them check your goods. A simple mistake caught early is much better than them noticing a day later and having them scream "thief" all over the forums. Reputation is *everything* in forum trading. Since there's no inbuilt/secure way to trade, they have to trust you. Using an alt account is unlikely to work for trading large volumes or valuable goods. If you do, expect to trade in small increments of the trade so that the seller/buyer can minimize losses if it happens.
