Re: Broholm (brohalla) small time tradeing thread.

If this is a thread for buying, you are going to want to sell some worthwhile curios, at least floatsams, since that seems to have become the standard unit of "money" in W5's economy.

your point system is borked. the relative value of the things you buy to the things you sell is way off. i suggest you take a closer look at other trading threads to see what items are actually worth.

example: your pearl has the (apparently arbitrary) value of 15p. so does a q8 (wtf?) soldier's sword that you want to buy. this theoretical sword is comprised of 2 bars of steel. even in w3 when an iron mine was infinite, there was no way that i'd ever trade 2 steel bars for a single q10 pearl. as a matter of fact i think i used to trade wall wrought to pearls at 2:1

a merchant robe is 4 silk cloth, meaning 200 cocoon hatchings. a rather significant amount of work for anyone, though a dedicated and organized silker could pump out 200 cocoons in one run. regardless, were i to offer a merchant robe, what could i get in return? a glimmermoss and a frog crown (ignoring the obvious comedy option "crate of beetroot" for now)

to be perfectly honest you will probably be better off by contacting an existing trader, or at least studying their value systems. if they are still active, narfell trade thread and the perenium trade company both look decent

Rob merchant, even the most simple, is not less than a pearl, often only 2

If you want to ignore Q entirely, a merchant robe will be worth the time put in. In the time you can make a merch robe, you could spend 2-3 hours pearl hunting. I'd say a low Q merch robe is worth at least 2-3 pearls because of that, more likely 5 pearls for a standard selling price. People who have the set up to make merch robes effectively (at least one silk mansion) will likely have better Q than Q ten. Narfel sells robes for 10 pearls each at Q70 just to give you a comparaison. So my vote would be 5 pearls.

Regarding the thread: I don't disagree with you opening this trade thread, but what you're selling is considered mostly "currency" (something anyone is happy to buy more of at any time, and something they can use as a trade good to other merchants) and what your buying is a limited number of produced goods. Might be worth changing the title to reflect that by calling it "Broholm shopping list" or something like that. The fact that you include what you have to trade for your wants is quite nice though.

On that note, PMed :)

well, its obvious ive screwed this up quite badly, probably because the point system was not based on other tradeing lists, but in relation to the worth i felt for items i was selling (isnt that ow its meant to work??)

but nevermind, ill edit the shit out it, later today..

Of the items on your list, both pearls and royal toadstools could probably be traded for ranger gear. frog crowns are a lot easier to find than the toadstools are so there's always a good demand for them. And pearls... are pearls.

If you want expensive items like that, try doing some mass clam cooking. It takes time but you will get pearls (eventually even if you're unlucky)
