world 3 was 11x11 with spawns only in the central 5x5, and less people than we have now...

You may not have heard, I know, it's a bit of a secret, but... this isn't world 3.

You may have also heard, I know, it's a bit of a secret, but... Loftar used the same mapgen.

And sab don't even bullshit. There will always be water nodes out there that haven't been discovered.

I have to agree with Gato on this one. Don't forget to check your cave lakes.

It was a guess on my part. There's luck involved obviously.

The place I'm living in is hell for water. The entire lake I'm on doesn't have a single water node in it, I've spent hours searching. Within a 20 minute boating distance there's a single Q60+ water node (claimed down to Q10 I might add) and a smattering of Q20 or lowers.

That being said, where I first spawned in W5 there was 3 Q40+ nodes within 5 minutes boating distance.

But I agree with sab. It's true there'll always be unclaimed water nodes out there, but population density has been rising. The chance that the good Q nodes will be unclaimed is slowly dropping as world population increases.

P.S. My original guess was 3-4 Q60+ per supergrid, but I decided to play it a little more conservative. I'm starting to think that's a little low but you've got more experience than me. Throw out a number if you want.

That's about right if you count nodes that don't actually touch water.

I'm 100% sure I found a Q70+ node that was like that. Hell it could be Q100+ The Q11 water on the edge went for two full screens on enders (And I was actually traveling to the center of it). The river ended at Q12, I built on every well spot in the area but all I ended up with was wells in a massive circle with water no higher than Q15. It was absolutely heartbreaking.

Ah yes, I hate that. I know of a lake that has q30-60 clay along it's banks and likely around q80+ on the peak, which is directly in the center of it.
