If you an owner of a q80+ clay spot, 1 piece to 1 steel bar ratio is a ripoff.

Keep your HQ clay to yourself.

this, steel takes like 0 effort and can be easily solo even in large quantities at a time.

I'm still unaware of trade rates beyond beginner/mid level materials. If Q80 clay > steel piece by piece then that's something I didn't know.

What confuses me is people not wanting to trade Q70+ resources. Use an alt account, only ever teleport to people? Other than the issue of having the node discovered, I just don't see the point of hoarding clay since it repairs a load of 45 clay per day easily.

keeping a reserve is a smart thing to do. plus there's depending on the size of ones town all the clay could be going towards other member's projects like ovens, etc.

Well... I understand that concept. We're 6 weeks into the game now. If you found it 3 weeks ago, 1 week to claim and let it get back up to Q. Still you'd have had a minimum of 14x45 if you harvested once a day. But I highly doubt many if any trades have gone through for Q80+ clay.

If not, by all means. PM me, I'd love to know exactly who I have to kill/beg/grovel to to get this stuff XD

Edit: On second thought, scratch the "to kill" option. I'm perfectly fine with you being alive as long as I can get the clay for a kiln and a smelter :3

a q80+ clay node is on par for value with a gold deposit. the reason people are reluctant to trade hq clay isn't its scarcity, but that it's a major competitive advantage in metal quality, silk quality, FEP quality, and many other things. clay is one of the primary building blocks of a village's quality push.

The difference between q70 and q80 clay is so immensely different.

In World 3, there were about 6 - 7 q80+ clay nodes I could think of. These were owned by the most powerful factions, and rarely did you ever see something so precious being sold.

q70 clay though, was in abundance compared to q80+ clay. Sodom had several nodes (I think like 3 or 4) that were q70ish

This world, resources seem to be even more rare at ultra HQ. It would be so incredibly foolish to sell clay from a q80+ node. Keep it to yourself so you have an advantage over others. Only if someone offers you something amazing should you sell q80+ resources.

There's a point to that. If you can outcompete everyone on metal Q and everything else, you don't even need to sell your clay to get good stuff.

*ish chastised* :(

you can tell who wants the goods but can't afford them.

hmm zero effort, lets see

finding a place to mine iron
equipping fullindustry miner
mining out 1100~1300 ore
smelting it
refining through finery
keeping crucs lit for 56h

+ preparing infrastructure
+ preparing food
+ preparing fuel

right. zero effort (compared to something you take a shovel and dig at 36 pieces/day), scam, blabla, etc

anyway offer still going to be good for 1 day

Basically, you need much clay because you want to rebuild your ovens/metal buildings/treepots as soon as you get better wood (which means better bricks/pottery).

Hmm, point to this.

And If what I read about bloom->wrought being 30% conversion you'd need 1440 pieces of ore to do it assuming completely average yields for it.
