Assuming a supergrid is still 5000x5000, if there were no gates:
4(Corners) x 300 - Cornerposts
4(Sides) x 4998(Tilesperside) x 10 - Walls
4x300 = 1200
10x4998=49980
49980 x 4 = 199920
199920 + 1200 = 201,120


To be honest if he's only offering brickwall building labour and not making bricks and digging clay, a fair offer could be made (but not what was offered here).

No. You'd only need one inititial cornerpost and 3 subsequent cornerposts. The actual number for a gateless 5000x5000 is 200,370.
