yes

Is the formula he posted correct? or is mine...

i hope this information isn't wrong, since i've never done a whole lot of smithy work, but the general form seemed to be 50% input materials, 25% anvil, 25% hammer, with the above softcap in place.

in terms of input materials, it cannot be assumed that input material quality is the average of all materials. for example, i know for a fact that in a b12 axe, the steel is weighted much more heavily than the leather.

Hm, weird. That has never worked for me. Just to check; the anvil q is not capped by anything apart from the materials, correct? TBH I know my anvil q is correct, I've made so much wrought on it @its quality, that it definitely is the q I'm saying.
Thanks for the info however. Guess I'll have to puzzle on...

the anvil will be average of metal bars used, no cap. are you 100% certain of your anvil q?

e: like i say, i don't have a ton of smithy experience, i've always been a farmer, but i wouldn't post info if i wasn't at least reasonably sure i'm right. but if anyone has any further experience or some raw numbers, i'm not too proud to stand corrected :)

Yeah, I'm 100% sure to be honest. Since when I was using the q81, I bashed hundreds of q81 bloom on that thing... But thanks for your info all the same :)

I think I'll craft a low q hammer and anvil and post the results..

This thread can be closed now. I sold most things, and made a more permanent thread.
