give someone you're junk thats worht x points to them... bam you have x points!
now ask them for something that costs x points and you've spent them too ;P

Point system is a reference for you (the buyer). It's more of what the seller agree on the value of each object. As a buyer, if you agree, then you trade, if not you look somewhere else.
Example: q100+ sling = 24 points.
So if you want to buy that, you need to give the seller, 24 points worth of stuff = 1 shocked frog OR 1 bear OR 1 pearl + 2 edelwieb OR 3 peculiar flotsam OR 24 x 3 frog's crown
