Well, I doubt they have, but they've probably wanted to trade a bar of metal for silk, or a bar of metal for rustroot. All prices are comparable.

I can honestly say I don't think anyone will trade rustroot for ANYTHING. Anyone with the materials to build a minehole would already be able to find their own.

Yeah probably. We've all but given up on prospecting due to how horribly awkward it is to actually find anything, so we've got rustroot piling up...

Only beginning players want to buy rustroot. Anyone more established will be able to find plenty on their own realistically speaking. It's not exactly uncommon.

Dont give up on prospecting. Find a cave and just dig around the edges. There should be at least one ore seam somwhere in the cave.

I prefer the term "test mining" actually. If you're systematic about it it works quite well. Prospecting a cave system is very difficult from the layer above.
