Perhaps a game for pearls?

Postby Grable » Tue Oct 04, 2011 8:23 am

Fuck it, I have this game sitting on "Gifts to be sent" on my Steam for a long time now and I want to get rid of it.
I'm willing to trade it for pearls or other interesting things.

The game (key) I'm offering is Mount & Blade: Warband, a medieval combat simulation game (with multiplayer) with pretty much the best melee combat system in the game world.
Currently worth 24,99€ on Steam.
If you don't trust I have the game to be gifted, I can post a screen when I come home.

PM or post if interested, if you want to troll, then troll.

Current bid: 5 pearls, by ElGato

Offer ends on Sunday, 9th October.

Offer ended, winner ElGato.

>warband
>best melee combat system title
Pick one.

Gothic 2 is somewhat the closest to the title (at least for me) and the one from Witcher 1 isn't too shabby either if you play on the hardest difficulty.

As for the game, I'd estimate it's worth 3-5 pearls.

Gothic 2 or Witcher (played both) do not even remotely touch the complexity of Warband's melee system. It is hands down the best one available at the moment.

Warband is an amazing game. I can't count how many times I've replayed both Mount & blade and Warband.
Countless hours spent on this game and in my opinion worth more then 3-5 pearls.

The game itself can't be beaten, no objectives, etc. It comes down to leveling up a char so high you can solo armies.
I have about 190 hours of playtime on it so I can vouch it's shit you can get easily bored with.

I''m guessing you never started your own Faction through one of the two ways to do so.
Trying to take over all of Caldaria while you try and defend your kingdom and become recognized is a hell of a lot of fun.
Not to mention the countless mods that make the game a completely new experience.

Single player is a very good sandbox, very good replayability as you can always go another direction in character development. But multiplayer is where the real stuff happens. Got 800 hours played myself.

Yes, indeed I forgot c-RPG, a mod that implements RPG features and persistency to multiplayer. Very very fun.
