Game is partly black and i cannot do anything - Elder Client

Hey Guys, i hope you figure out a problem i recently have. I hope now i am in the right section of these forum

Two hours ago, i was playing Haven with the Elder Client, all was good. Then, i shortly logged out. Then, when i tried to logg in again, i couldnt click on "where you logged out" and so i had have to click on "your hearthfire". Then the game opend, but i just see the trees, our house, etc. The whole ground, the grass, etc. were black! And I couldnt move or click at something. My character stood above my hearthfire, and i also could see my character laying in the bed!! I tried at least 10 times to logg in, but alwasy the same picture. And funny, my boyfried, who was also playing, got kicked out of the game. And after he wants to logg in again, he had the same problem as i.

So we thought that our java version was the problem, and we downloaded the newest java version. After that we had have problems with the run.bat too. And in addition, the standart client doesent work. So we cannot start a new game with the standart client. Now, we downloaded the elder client again, and at least, we could start the game. But the problem we have is still there. So i just made a new character, and as i travel to the hearthfire of a friend, the same problem appears.

So, i would really appreciate it, if anyone can help me. And i hope you dont mind my english, its not my foreign language.

Try delete the "belt_yourcharacterhavingproblems" file in your enders folder

Are you using a windows xp/vista school computer? At my school, I have the same problem currently with 32-bit enders. I got it working last semester at school with 32-bit, then I decided to delete the files i downloaded, but now I'm trying to get it to work again with the same client (enders) and forgot what I did before. I haven't tried the default client yet, though.

There are a few options under the "Most Common Errors" heading in first post here: http://www.havenandhearth.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=14575 The first one, the "Windows cannot find javaw.", is probably the most helpful.
You could also try adding a new line at end that says "pause"
Also, If you're using 32-but client, you have to delete the "(x86)" part of the "Program Files (x86)" & add a "w" at end of the "java" section of "java.exe" when adding the path to javaw. I think that's for 32-bit.
Also, I don't know for sure, but the problem might be the wrong client version (64/32 -bit)
Remember that you use the client that is the same (32 or 64)-bit as your Java &/or Windows.

I don't think there is a file called that. I never got it and I have the same problem with my school's computer. I (usually) go to the computer Lab during lunch to play H & H, but recently am having the same problems after I deleted & then redownloaded ender's client.

Edit: Nya, You might want to repost this in the Ender's Client Thread because he, and others that use enders client or had similar problems, does at least try to answer questions & fix problems that are related to ender's client. Just a suggestion.

I am using a asus laptop (notebook) with os win 7 and an nvidia graphic card. My boyfriend uses a pc with win 7 too.

I only found the file belts_nya.conf, shout i delete the file?? I'm not quit sure about it, and of course, i don't want to delete my character.

@zing1515: we allready renamed the path in the run.bat, so the run.bat can find java. Otherwise the game wouldnt start at all?!

Sorry for the trouble i might be causing. Can somebody repost it for me? I'm not certain, if i'll post it in the right thread or section. Thanks.

No it's not called that literally, haha. There should be a belts_ file for each of your characters.

It won't delete your character, it's just part of your UI configuration.

Yeah, it won't delete your character, but it does delete the hotkey options u used for actions. Dragging the teleport hf option to the hotbar thingy & then pressing "1" key to go to hf instead of choosing it in action menu under adverture->travel->hf would be using hotkeys. Its basically a shortcut for certain actions. The belts_character name.conf only deletes those hotkey options from the hotbar to where u have to drag all of them back to the hotbar. It basically is a file that saves what ur hotkeys are set for which action.

Edit: Sorry for the kinda confusing wording. I'm usually not good at explaining stuff like that. If someone can reword what I said into easier-to-understsand wording, it would probably be helpful.

I have similar issues with a laptop and Windows 7 too. Client freezes and partly black screens are more common when entering/exiting a building/cave or logging into my character.
I kinda can reduce the number of times it happens by closing every program I'm running but H&H, or avoiding areas with a lot of in screen objects, like crop fields.

Hey Guys,

my boyfried delete his belt-file, and the problem is still there
We had have the same problem as qqpq, that the game sometimes went black. But now its just everytime we want to play the game. We'll try the hint with closing all programms, that are running in the background. Hopefully that is the solution.

Well ok, i just logg in with the pc from my boyfriend, and it work! So i go a bit, and than, because i want to check out, i go to sleep. Then, i want to log in again, at last log out, and the same problem back again AHHH i could cry, that is ridiculous.

Update: Ok, at the next try, i had have no problems. Nothing black, i could go,.... Maybe the prob i the sleeping itself. Because when i tried to log in again, when i go sleeping befor, i could see myself lying in the bed. I want to check next, if there are any problems with my notebook (laptop). And ok, my boyfried still have the problem. Its really kind of ridiculous.
