I think H&H could really benefit from going 3D partially. By that I mean to make it like Cossacks, ie 3D terrain and 2D objects. These look a lot better than H&H cliffs:

one of my biggest drivers for making it 3d is so you can see your house / walls etc from different angles. If you made it 2d on 3d you wouldn't be able to see different house angles.

Additionally, a few things (most/all?) already have an implied third dimension just from the perspective, it'd look downright strange if you could rotate the landscape, but the perspective drawn house stuck to its original orientation

Meh, I couldn't care less for rotation. I just want proper elevation.

the sims was 2d over 3d and had 4 angles of rotation, this would require extra sprites from jorb. sims 2 was true 3d and had a floating camera which was pretty cool or whatever but idk if we need it for this game.

Possibly you guys should look at the switch from 2D to 3D Ultima Online has done some years ago.

Didn't change the game itself, but added some additional possibilities.

well if haven and hearth was using the 3d type as runescape it wouldnt be too bad , if it turned into something like world of warcraft 3d then people would probably not play it.
