i wonder if there is better file then map.html . a bit more upgraded with zooming like in w6 world map

Just use the salem mapping tool. It's a bit extra work, but it's way better for managing things.

i have this, and it worked GREAT the first day. i got everything mapped. however, after that day, i suddenly cannot map anymore. when i open the program, ir 'loads' quickly and goes right to a blank session with no maps [i clicked to open maps already though], then attempted to simply click my map folder again. it 'loads' a second time and still nothing, even when i open merges or just one piece at a time. if someone could help, itd be much appreciated, as i have no idea what happened.

Can't merge huge maps, i doesn't detect the part where they are the same. But its still nice program though.

you might try the tile value changer

Not sure if it works correct with merged files - afair it missed the value for one tile when i used it a while back

I tried to search a bit, but is there any easy way to make a graphical file for the map, for example for node marking purposes?

the easiest way would probably be making a screenshot of map - use an overlay capable image program (photoshop or such) and make a new layer with markings - another way would be to draw markings direct into tiles (where it's hard to find the right ones) or do your own google map

Mapping for novice

I am attempting to create my own maps via my ender client. However I do not have the save icon in my minimap. Is this a setting I can easily fix?

I verified I have latest update, both Ender and java.

I live in an area with alot of unmapped portions, trying to fill in the blanks.

Already searched a bit, found tutorials for cartographer3 and mapmerger 3.1. Both start giving instructions after files in correct places and are able to open apps. Not that far yet. A step by step from scratch would be most helpful if available, I have not been able to find one.

Any help would be appreciated. Not sure if this is correct place to post, considering it seems to cover a variety of categories.

full maps get saved automatically with Ender so no need for a button to press
(for cavemaps you need to press the disk icon above minimap - for simplemaps that doesn't show trees and ridges you need to toggle the view and save with disk icon)

they go to a folder called maps in Ender folder - each seession gets an own subfolder

you drop the mapmerger3.1 into the map folder and run it, after it's finished you have a folder "merged" in maps folder - you copy map.html and currentsession.js (look for them in map or cave folder) into the merged folder, edit the currentsession.js to the sessions name you want to display - open map.html and your browser shows your map...
