You'll have to forgive me, my own experience in the game is limited to World 5 and 6, so I can only argue from World 3 hearsay (Thanks Oddity). What changed so much from World 3 to World 6, mechanics wise that punishing criminals became so difficult? From what I understand Sodom commanded enough power to scare the living shit out of anyone who might commit crimes within it's own sphere of influence, and from that developed the sort of political relations that existed in World 3. From fear of misinterpreting your position, do you think that World 3 mechanics were optimal or at least tolerable, or that since World 3, PvP mechanics have been broken and the general shift in attitude has only exacerbated this issue.

Brickbashing got removed so vaults became pretty much impenetrable.

i'm not sure i understand the implications of this?

and exacly what the 5 second hearth delay does to help?

hearth is a hotkey for me.... and after someones comment about voice activation, i hooked dragon up to ahk :D... bit stupid really
anyone with a brain does not afk out doors, and has hearth on an easy to reach hotkey, auto aggro... seen it, never really needed or used

how does the 5 sec hearth fix this?

hmm, ahh enders new client released this?, i always assumed everyone had this stuff ages ago, at least alot of the raiders, botter and complete bastards anyway

and whilst foraging, those are the people who count.. i'm not sure this changes my strategy at all

Nah, that's only a small part of it. The main thing was that in W3 Olympus vs Wayneville was still a fresh memory, so people were afraid of 'sploiting too much lest they anger the devs. By world 5 they came to realize they can do whatever the fuck and nothing will happen to them, and then they just sort of went wild with it and pushed the vault exploitation to it's logical conclusion.
