You can run the regular client? You're using the right zip package and double checked the dates on the updates?

Also check Java version.

Runemist wrote:Hey, um, not to beat a dead horse here, or anything, but I can't seem to get the client running properly. I've got everything downloaded (I believe), but when I double click on Haven.jar I don't get anything, just the window, and no game within. Am I missing something? I tried running "IRC-extended-haven.jnlp" and it gives me the client, I just can't seem to connect the two (say if I wanted to change the screen size, or turn on nightvision) to get the actual client running the way it should.
For reference, I run a mac, latest version of Snow leopard...

try the jnlp version, works fine for me on snow leopard. press ` to access the console for commands.

I can, indeed, run the regular client. THANK YOU for suggestion the ` button...I'd never have thought of that, and it works!
Still, any suggestions on how to get it to talk to the config file? I'd like to be able to change the screen size...you know, if I want to hide it in the corner while I'm at school. :roll:

^^

You should be able to modify most variables at the moment. The only ones one the options panel that I haven't touched are the IRC.

Well, if I go into the config file, it doesn't do anything, or it seems not to...also, is there a problem with the game getting bogged down? Every time I experience even a little bit of lag, it only gets worse, and the only way for me to get rid of it is to reload the game...I've waited for up to half an hour for it to return to normal, even after my roommate has regular gameplay again.
Just kinda found that odd!
Thank you for the help, btw!

Edit line 3 and restart the client.

Code: Select all
<?xml version="1.0" ?>
<CONFIG>
   <SCREENSIZE width="1024" height="768"/>

Also are you sure you are differentiating between client and server lag? We've had MASSIVE lag today from 130-150 players ebing online.

Ah, I didn't know there were so many people! That explains it!
One more question (you guys have been so helpful!)...which is more of a mac-oriented question, but since I'm on a laptop, I technically don't have a "right click" unless I hold down the control key...but the control key is already for something else, so any ideas on how I could change/get around that one? If not, it's okay (I have a USB mouse for home) I was just wondering if I could go abroad and play. :mrgreen:

check under the system menu thing, there might be some options for the trackpad, snowleopard can do multitouch but your best bet would be a usb mouse i think

When I click the Bat file it does nothing.
I extracted the client to my desktop and updated it with the latest Haven file.
