Still no joy...

with the JDK folders removed I get this:
No Java runtime present, requesting install.
logout

with them installed I get this:
Error: This Java instance does not support a 32-bit JVM.
Please install the desired version.

Oracle Java 7 for Mac OsX is 64 Bit only (jre-7u45-macosx-x64.dmg) ,
that's where you get this error from
Error: This Java instance does not support a 32-bit JVM.
,
while Apple Java 6 supports both (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572)

10.9 Maverick uninstalls Java when upgrading so you'll need to reinstall - if you want to use Ender for Mac made by Hasse (which is 32 Bit) you'd better go with Apple Java update

Seems someone has to build a 64 Bit Ender for Mac for those that want to use Java 7 JRE /JDK on Maverick

Those that have Oracle Java 7 (64 Bit) on their Mac OsX Union 64 Bit client might be an alternative way to run a custom client....

Mac Ender's client error, 32-bit JVM?

Postby the_portals » Wed Dec 18, 2013 4:34 am

For a few days, I've been getting an error trying to run the Haven and Hearth/Mac client by Ando. I've seen this error pop up on several threads where the recurring solution is to downgrade to java 6, which hasn't worked at all for me.

Whenever I try to run the client, terminal tells me that "This Java instance does not support a 32-bit JVM. Please install the desired version". I've tried following the steps given by HasseKebab on http://www.havenandhearth.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=32796, but with no results. I found out I'm running java 6, update 65 from Apple.

Has anyone encountered and/or solved this problem?

I got it working, turns out either my mac is weird or macs in general are weird, but I have two places in my computer where java installed, and removing the java 1.7.0_45 jdk got it working. Thanks!

Hassekebap MAC Ender 32 Bit (21MB .zip format) for 32 Bit Java
http://ul.to/8h6hnhxt

free dl with 30 seconds wait time and low speed (50kb/s)

You need to grab the update.jar from first post in Ender thread then, drop it into Ender folder and run it to get the Jan 20 2014 updates

I have an oldish computer. Apparently I should be able to get Enders if I'm able to run H&H but I can't..

I check my java and this is what I get

PowerBook:~ admin$ java -version
java version "1.5.0_13"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_13-b05-237)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_13-119, mixed mode, sharing)
PowerBook:~ admin$

I can't update to 1.6 and I don't know anyone with a link to a version of enders that is pre 1.6

I'm sorry but there is no Ender client that runs on 1.5 because it got compiled with a later version (Java 1.6) from beginning (the same goes even for older clients like Gilbertus), so you'll have to play with default client (Play Button).

The only way to get a custom client running with 1.5 would be to grab and mix the source codes and compile it yourself with Ant and JDK 1.5 i guess ...

You might upgrade to 10.7 (if it's not a PPC but an Intel) - you'll need to buy a 10.7 USB Stick and doing a fresh install AFAIK (or get 10.7 from a friend who bought it at Appstore) - you don't need a 10.6 first
