For example, I open up the inventory with the tab key, then move it a bit closer to the side of the window to free up more space in the middle, but when I reopen it, it pops back to its original position.

You can do some kind of modification to the fullscreen mode to be in 1024x768? i know that the client is not for using fullscreen as it have zooming and rezising, but even in vanilla H&H i have this problem
I really dont want to bother you with complicated editing, but i like the exploring part of the game, and having a wider range of view would be a really big change for me, that im limited to the tiny vanilla screen
Edit, i have Wxp x32
Regular fullscreen is -- tricky -- with everyone - if it won't work in Vanilla client it won't work in any other client either because it's part of how Fullscreen displays stuff.
Just settle for windowed and maximize it to your full screen size, you'll have the title bar and the start menu and all those but you should still have good playability.
The problem i have is that playing in normal non fullscreen mode, my game is unplayable. I waste a minute and a half to open the game, go to the options window, and turn it fullscreen

You won't be saying that in a week or two when you realize how many abandoned homes there are. A 30 second boat ride south of my village literally bring you to the ghetto. There's abandoned claims everywhere with the occasional newb taking things and raiders patrolling. It reminds me of Detroit.

Well, if 1 and a half minute to just put the game in fullscreen doesnt explain it, just think in every time you do a click with your mouse for just moving your char in game, in mine will take 15~30 sec to start moving, and then i will only see 3 or 4 frames of the char actually moving to clicked position. Making a rock axe is a torture, i do not want to think what farming will be playing like this.
But, fullscreen seems to make it work at a decent playable speed, or at least as like other players play the game in youtube videos
I really really want to play the game in non fullscreen, but i cant. So it would be a BIG nice thing to have the fullscreen in 1024x768. You could fix this?
