Now that the client is up and running :D . I will pose this question about the client: Should window positions save? Or is that a feature you would need to add? For example, I open up the inventory with the tab key, then move it a bit closer to the side of the window to free up more space in the middle, but when I reopen it, it pops back to its original position.

for some windows (like inventory) this would be not easy to implement. But I'll think about it.

By the way, I've found another bug with rightclicking when zoomed. Fixed that, it will be available with next release.

You can do some kind of modification to the fullscreen mode to be in 1024x768? i know that the client is not for using fullscreen as it have zooming and rezising, but even in vanilla H&H i have this problem

I really dont want to bother you with complicated editing, but i like the exploring part of the game, and having a wider range of view would be a really big change for me, that im limited to the tiny vanilla screen

Edit, i have Wxp x32

Regular fullscreen is -- tricky -- with everyone - if it won't work in Vanilla client it won't work in any other client either because it's part of how Fullscreen displays stuff.

Just settle for windowed and maximize it to your full screen size, you'll have the title bar and the start menu and all those but you should still have good playability.

The problem i have is that playing in normal non fullscreen mode, my game is unplayable. I waste a minute and a half to open the game, go to the options window, and turn it fullscreen

Please define unplayable.

You won't be saying that in a week or two when you realize how many abandoned homes there are. A 30 second boat ride south of my village literally bring you to the ghetto. There's abandoned claims everywhere with the occasional newb taking things and raiders patrolling. It reminds me of Detroit.

I absolutely love the zoom feature. If I'm having any FPS issues like I normally do, I can simply just zoom in and it cuts down on my lag quite a bit while still maintaining the not-clumped-together UI of a small screen :)

Well, if 1 and a half minute to just put the game in fullscreen doesnt explain it, just think in every time you do a click with your mouse for just moving your char in game, in mine will take 15~30 sec to start moving, and then i will only see 3 or 4 frames of the char actually moving to clicked position. Making a rock axe is a torture, i do not want to think what farming will be playing like this.
But, fullscreen seems to make it work at a decent playable speed, or at least as like other players play the game in youtube videos
I really really want to play the game in non fullscreen, but i cant. So it would be a BIG nice thing to have the fullscreen in 1024x768. You could fix this?

Okay, what's your PC Specs? There are a few things which MAY help improve your experience - this is an OpenGL game so it's possible there are new drivers for your video card which may help, or it may be that you need an updated (or older, try 1.5) version of Java.

What type of video card are you dealing with? It's possible, if you're using an integrated graphics, that even in full screen 1024x768 you may find yourself screwed.

Sadly, I'm at a loss. Those specs sound perfectly reasonable. The 9400 GT, while not the best card in the world, is slightly better though pretty much comparable to an 8500 GT, even being a newer series of card -- and the 8500 in my friend's wXP machine running on a celeron processor (I think it's hyperthreading capable though I don't know) is able to play this game just fine in Gilbertus or Ender or Vanilla.

Try the newest (I think 6u32 or 23 or something) Java, if you're already on the newest try a 1.5 version of java (java 5 release, somewhere)...

Check the command prompt line while the game is being slow to see if massive errors are being generated - if so check the Java Errors thread in ... I don't honestly know where on this board it is, but it may have some solutions there...

Finally, as you said you have this problem playing in non-fullscreen on the vanilla client. It's not going to be something Ender can really solve - and to be honest the fullscreen code is... complicated. Really most of the alternative clients we have are just hacks against the vanilla client, adding things like resizable window and trying to make the program take variables for its draw-size rather than a fixed size (at least, I believe that's the case, I have no idea, really)... so I imagine fullscreen may be the same but may be substantially harder to change. I could just be blowing smoke and/or talking out my ass, it is 2a where I am right now.

As some others have suggested in other ideas, it may be a longshot, but try a Linux LiveCD with this client to see if it runs better there - I've heard story of Linux running the game smashingly when Windows fails.

Make SURE you have the updated driver for your graphics card not just OpenGL from your card manufacturer not from Windows Update.

Close other programs, especially any remote assistance things or things like that... Check in your control panel for your video card if there's any OpenGL "optimizations" or anything like that you can enable or disable? If there are extra things going on with OpenGL turn them off? If there's "hardware acceleration" unchecked, check it?

I'm afraid I'm just crapshooting at ideas.
