Magic. and tons of it. (jk) but srsly, how do magnets work?

What does your run.bat say?
It might not be where you placed it, but i think the .bat file is pointing in the wrong direction.

or he made the run.bat and didn't DL the actual client files?

I'm trying to get the Ender Mac client to run on a Macbook, but I'm getting "Could not Connect to Server"

My terminal shows this:
Code: Select all
Last login: Mon Jun 20 00:16:39 on ttys000
MacBook-Pro:~ Katherine$ /Users/Katherine/Downloads/enderMac32/run.command ; exit;
2011-06-20 00:19:45.722 java[1420:170f] *** Assertion failure in -[CocoaAppWindow _changeJustMain], /SourceCache/AppKit/AppKit-1038.35/AppKit.subproj/NSWindow.m:9470
2011-06-20 00:19:45.724 java[1420:170f] *** CPerformer: ignoring exception 'Invalid parameter not satisfying: [self canBecomeMainWindow]' raised during perform of selector 'requestFocus:' on target 'FocusManager' with args '<AWTComponentSetFocusData: 0x1188780>'

The run.command itself contains:
Code: Select all
#!/bin/bash
cd `dirname "$0"`
java -d32 -Xms256m -Xmx512m -jar haven.jar moltke.seatribe.se -r ./res

Any help would be appreciated!

i think your problem is that the server is down

and when ever i try to run the bat file i get "Windows cannot find 'javaw'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again"
after idk how long of entering install paths i kept getting stuff that cant be located

Hello, I am utterly lost and I apologise in advance for my lack of knowledge on how these programs etc. work.

I have been trying to get things to work with no results. Basically I can't even find my where my Haven folder is... I have searched all over and there is nothing. When I start it up with the big button at the top of this page I get a brief window as if I was downloading and then that goes away and I'm into Haven. There seems to be no trace of Haven actually in my computer! Therefore I cannot even try the basic 'changing the .bat to the correct pathway' thing.

I am on Windows 7 and have tried both the 32 and 64 versions with the same result. Any help will be appreciated, dying to another boar I should have seen earlier would be a right pain in the arse...

Thanks.

EDIT: It seems to flash up that Haven is some sort of temporary file, I'm not quite sure what I have done here...

you are using the official client. this thread is about custom clients made by players which you need to download to use.

Thanks for the reply.

I know though, I am trying to get Ender's client to work properly but it won't because I can't find the pathway to my Haven file for the .bat file to run properly. I can put the Java pathway in but then it says it can't find Haven!

So, I'm stuck... Haven simply runs through Java from some temporary file. Can I get Ender's (or another good modded client) to work?

EDIT: So should this be moved to the Ender Client thread instead?

you do not start Ender's or any custom clients by the big button "Play" at the top of the page.

make sure "where" you download Ender's, and open the very folder you downloaded to find "run.bat".
other than that, i really cannot see what kind of problem you are facing. you can always choose where to download files... maybe you havent unzipped the files? which page are you downloading Ender's client files from?
