github is an asshole to everything except git apparently, so I was trying to switch to a mercurial repository. Mercurial decided that it would be best if none of the .java files existed, and git seems to think that the java files are evil too since it has no problems with them being gone. I'm not touching this for a while.

If you have serious problems I should be able to dig up your source files from my local clone of your repo with minimum effort...?

nah, I just have to destroy the repository on my end and reclone it. pulling using git has no issues, but the git program doesn't think there is a problem with all the source files being missing. I'm still kinda pissed at the whole thing, so I'm not touching it until I can start git and not be automatically expecting it to fuck up.

git is a file system... you can start a new git repo without destroying the old one

Destroying it on my computer, not on git. The repository on my computer is fucked to hell, I have to destroy it and reclone it because it won't let me do anything else.

Seriously, it won't do jack shit, its not like I didn't try, why the hell do you think I'm pissed off at it?

Do you use Windows?
I've heard of some bug with git clients on Windows.
I can't remember what it was, though; Loftar knows more about it.

I noticed somewhere you were complaining about the speed of your repos.

It is super slow because you've been uploading binaries.

If you put your releases somewhere else instead of the version control system it'd be a lot faster.
