Game Client modified by Ender

Umm i need some help.
I haven't played this game before. I downloaded ender's game client and the updates because the original downloader didn't work for me. I can start the game until the login screen. I press login then the screen goes black and i can't even quit the game i have to restart the whole computer to make it disappear.
Anyone can help me?

You might be loading, do you have a slow internet connection? I suggest updating to java 7.

Sometimes Ender's will load the first few tiles of the minimap normally, but then start showing the rest of the tiles I explore as simple map tiles when I didn't tell it to.

My client has huge problems with FPS lag whenever I start it up, and after reloading it a billion times it decides to work fine. Anyone know what is causing it?
