The DMCA mostly covers audio and visual work from what I can recall. I'll need to reread the wording on its amendments to see if it's relevant here, one sec.

Would you post the license for your code please?

You are not involved in this if ender needs another copy I will provide him one.

You seem to lack basic knowledge of code ownership.... so would be pointless at any rate.
Ender blantly acknowledges what he has done I don't need a 16 year old child "giving advice"
sorry but not needed.

I am a professional programmer who has programmed for companies you know about.

It is 3am and I have to deal with a kid nicknamed ender who thought it would be cute to steal code

I'm sorry If you don't approve of me actually agreeing with you, I'm currently reading through the GNU license (which I am assuming your license is based) looking for where Ender failed to comply. I may not be an expert but insulting the few people who actually care about copywriters is rather rude. I am not 16, nor am I giving advice, I'm just attempting to see the whole picture.

Claiming to be a professional programer who "Programed for companies you know about" makes you seem arrogant and egotistical. While you may be a professional programer (or not) it is advisable to present arguments without a sense of superiority.

EDIT: According to the GNU license (which is the only license you linked so I am assuming your custom license is similar) you cannot sue those who use Enders client because they never agreed to the license. Only those who distribute are at fault.

Well consdiring I wrote this code with ender stating

"I don't think thats possible"

sure does.
This isn't what I wanted to spend my time doing right now arguing over something I legally own

Should have resolved as soon as I contacted ender but it wasn't.

I giving ender several days (two?) than contacting jorb/lotar to take down ender thread and going to where ender hosting files and getting them token down as well.

If he still can't understand what he has done...
That is when more drastic measures are taken.

He forcing me to do this...
Little public embarrassment for him not be able to code his way out of paper shack isn't that bad either

I agree that it should have been quickly resolved between you two, however threatening users with lawsuits (which you cannot actually sue for) is not an embarrassment to Ender.

DMCA covers any electronic works

DMCA is most known for anti circumventing protections... but a lot more than that.

http://www.digital-web.com/articles/dmc ... n_notices/

nice FAQ for you.

Well technically yes I could sue them...
putting into a easier context...

Ender is hosting a movie illegally for download
UserY downloads it.
Ender and UserY are both liable.

Now what about knowledge?
Having illegal merchandise if you know it is illegal or not is criminal offense.

Am I going to sue them no but sure got the trolls to scamper off huh?

i actually see how everyone is gonna hate you for taking the client down

anyway, how old are you? ( because you got this idea older= better where all kids are stupid, or maybe those are the kind of kids you are used to?)

There is a difference in the copywrites between a movie and you're source code. My statement is based on the GNU public license that you linked. I understand this is not your license agreement but as you refused to post yours I'm assuming yours is similar in nature.

9. Acceptance Not Required for Having Copies.

You are not required to accept this License in order to receive or
run a copy of the Program. Ancillary propagation of a covered work
occurring solely as a consequence of using peer-to-peer transmission
to receive a copy likewise does not require acceptance. However,
nothing other than this License grants you permission to propagate or
modify any covered work. These actions infringe copyright if you do
not accept this License. Therefore, by modifying or propagating a
covered work, you indicate your acceptance of this License to do so.

if what you wanted was just a small credit of your name somewhere, you could have simply asked Ender first by pm?

was it Sacre? Ender once used his mansion mod without a credit, was asked about it and added it promptly, iirc.

client gets tooken down not my problem maybe ender should have stopped being a child and just add my license back in code with a little insert of this in ender thread

"Thanks for contribution kinky for the wikilib"

you want someone to be mad at be mad at ender for not being able to give credit where credit is due.

how old am I?
Old enough to have graduated from a university.

I went through a bunch of steps long ago to ensure I was given credit for what I developed....

Now I am calling my dues.
