4 - Execute the exporter util. Some OSes will let you just double click it, others will need you to run java -jar exportHavenRes_allplatforms.jar

I'm having trouble figuring out how to work with this. Where can I find this "explorer util" ?

Use Boshaw's Layer util. It's the best one.

How exactly does it work? I downloaded the zip file and unpacked it. Now what? what do I run or do to get into the .res files from HnH? Or in other words, how do I edit .res files? D:

1. save commands from my previous post in directory with the LayerUtil as decode.bat and encode.bat or whatever
2. edit names of inDir, outDir if you want them called differently
4. copy to inDir res files you want to decode
5. run decode.bat
6. check outDir

I didn't get any of that. where do I find decode.bat, inDir, outDir etc etc? Sorry I'm a bit new to this.

Well, You downloaded new salem version. Dunno how to use it yet.

1. copy res files you want edit.to decode_in/
2. run decode.bat
3. edit whatever you like in decode_out/
4. run encode.bat
5. copy edited res files from encoded/ to your res/ or custom_res/ dir in client.
