was it Sacre? Ender once used his mansion mod without a credit, was asked about it and added it promptly, iirc.

I have and his reply was since he made minor changes he doesn't think he has to....
(including remove my credits from a comment in the source code and a file for license)
Boy is he wrong.

exactly you are basing it on me having gnu public license

but just fyi since you are not familiar with gpl

"You may not copy, modify, sublicense, or distribute the Program except as expressly provided under this License. Any attempt otherwise to copy, modify, sublicense or distribute the Program is void"

Meaning all conditions found within are void.

well off be back to see if ender sings new tune tomorrow

I do realize I am basing my statement on you having a license you don't have, but I have little alternative.

on a slightly less related note where is that line in the GNU? I am curious as to context and I do admit to not being very familiar with this license, I am no expert I'm just aiming for comprehension.

EDIT: If it would make you feel better I could remove the offending code from my client.

So after going through everything again, it led me in a circle. Essentially it just reaffirmed that you need to fulfill Section 411 A which simply says you need to have a registered copyright before you can sue for copyright infringement. Assuming you have that he can fall back to Section 512 L which gives him the opportunity to claim fair use under §107 2, 3, and 4.

At no point in time does this dispute authorize you to sue anyone else until you have proven that the work is illegal and is being distributed illegally.

it looked like you all of a sudden you started shouting on ender thread to me, calling him names, though?

you all are using what loftar originally made, and all used a big part of what pachos or gilbertus or whoever coded first originally and only adding and modifying it over ... and whoever maintains the works with all the bugs and changes and fixes are those i thank and care the most, personally. but probably because i understand no codings.

if you are better at coding, why not make your own new client using JNLP or whatever loftar prefers(iirc)?
that might make more people happy and you may get your fame and right credit as you desire.

A tidbit from http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.htm ... edVersions:

GPLv2 says that modified versions, if released, must be “licensed … to all third parties.” Who are these third parties?

Section 2 says that modified versions you distribute must be licensed to all third parties under the GPL. “All third parties” means absolutely everyone—but this does not require you to *do* anything physically for them. It only means they have a license from you, under the GPL, for your version.
