You mistyped the path.
It should be (x86) not (86x).

You won't be saying that in a week or two when you realize how many abandoned homes there are. A 30 second boat ride south of my village literally bring you to the ghetto. There's abandoned claims everywhere with the occasional newb taking things and raiders patrolling. It reminds me of Detroit.

Alright, I re-read your boxes and pictures.

You seem to have the hh-client 64bit - Yet you're calling the 32-bit java. Already that's incompatible - if you're calling the 32-bit Java, you need the 32-bit Gilbertus cient. If you're calling the 64-bit java (c:\program files\java...etc.), then the 64-bit client is correct.

With the x86 correct, if you're getting that error message, it means that it cannot find "java" where you are specifying. It could be that you actually ONLY have 64-bit java installed.

To check, navigate through your C drive, start with program files (x86), and if you see 'java' in there, drill through to jre6, then bin, and see if "java.exe" is there.

There are two possibilities to this: 1: there's no java folder or no bin folder (in which case the java folder would be empty and be there due to a bad uninstall perhaps, or a bad install), or 2: the java.exe app inside bin is removed for some insane reason (again bad uninstall or install).

If these files are missing, check inside "program files" itself, then see if java, jre6, bin, java.exe are there.

If neither of these come up correct -- Go through "Add/Remove Programs" or "Programs and Features" to remove ANYTHING Java related, fully uninstall anything Java, then go to:
http://java.sun.com/

And reinstall Java entirely.

Unless you're using 64-bit IE (and if you are, go get Firefox and use a proper browser), you don't need 64-bit Java. If you're using 64-bit IE, keep in mind there is 32-bit IE already on your computer - and there's no real reason to use 64-bit IE unless you have a specially designed custom plugin (perhaps provided by your employer) which MUST be run in 64-bit IE and is crucial to your computer usage. Really, the fact that MS provided a 64-bit browser is only because they couldn't program it to be 64-bit and 32-bit compatible at the same time, and they wanted to keep up with the "64-bit" trend. Other OS's that run 64-bit provide a dual-compatible browser, or just a 32-bit browser, because that way all plugins for all bit-versions of those browsers work just fine. So switch to Firefox, get 32-bit Java, and your command line should work AS-IS.

====================

HOWEVER:

There is another VERY clear possibility that you appear not to have noticed.

Are you actually running a 64-bit computer and operating system?

To check, go to your start menu, right click on "Computer", and choose "Properties".

From there, do you see the phrase "64-bit Operating System"?
Do you see "32-bit Operating System"?

If you see 64-bit, you are running a 64-bit OS.
If you see 32-bit, or do NOT see anything mentioning 64 or 32 bit, you are running a 32-bit OS.

In which case, you have a 32-bit Java most likely, but the location of it will be C:\Program Files\ -- Not C:\Program Files (x86)\ - because that directory does not exist on a 32-bit OS (it's x86 by default, instead of x64). So change your path to C:\Program Files\Java...etc. and you'll be happy. Keep the quotes around it though. They're still needed.

------------

These sets of steps, when taken in the correct order (and when those checks are performed correctly) should either generate BRAND NEW errors (which can be troubleshot) or make Gilbertus work.

P.S.:
In the future, please post error messages to the Gilbertus/Custom Client Troubleshooting Thread.

When i run the .bat a black box appears for a second then disappears i have tried both the 64-bit and 32-bit as i do not know if my java is 64-bit or 32-bit.
My computer is running windows 7 64-bit so i am guessing that java is 64-bit. Does anyone know how i can fix this?

Will a mod please update the OP to indicate that this client is not compatible with W5 (at least as far as I can tell)... attempting to login gives "Client is too old" at this time.

Unless there are suggested workarounds.

So what happens now? The client is too old again with the new world change. There any way this is a simple fix?

I'm but it will take me more time to find out how to merge and build that shit up and someone can do it faster and easily.
