Really though, something needs to stop or people are going to do more DDOS and cracking into the database attempts. :<

Yes, I'm aware, but that really has nothing to do with the current topic. If anything this actually serves to curb account theft as it's putting the feature out in the open instead of hidden away in some secret client that could possibly be key logged.
Again, stuff like auto-hearth has been technically possible since the day Haven was released. There's nothing here that really suggests "welp now people are gonna crash the server and the website!"

It's not that they are directly related, it's the fact that people are going to be more willing and more bold to do things. It was possible back then but people were at least half-way decent to not break things in the process and those that do risk much (Wayneville LP).
