Setting up H&H on Mac

What OS are you on (specific version, please)? Do you have a working version of Java installed? (I'm thinking more specifically of Macs and some Java issues that have cropped up in the recent past with earlier versions of Java 7 and certain versions of OSX.)

im running a Mac OS x 10.4.11 and Java 1.5 (i think) i cant upgrade java without upgrading the OS x to the next best and i can do that because there is not enough ram in this old thing. so tell me if it could work or if its hopeless, thanks

I think you'll need Java 1.6 with Ender - not sure if it's possible to compile it with ant and 1.5 jdk (or an IDE) yourself
- If you happen to have 512 MB Ram only i won't try with a custom client ...

Is it a PPC or an Intel CPU?
If Intel you might try with Soylatte http://landonf.bikemonkey.org/static/soylatte/ (a Java 1.6 BSD Port - prolly outdated)

Usage
Installation
To install, place the jdk directory anywhere on your file system. I chose /usr/local/soylatte16-i386
Command Line
To use the new JDK with tools like Apache Ant, set the JAVA_HOME environment variable to the full path of your soylatte installation (eg, /usr/local/soylatte16-i386).
To ensure that the Soylatte binaries are preferred over the system's 1.5 installation, add the installation directory to your PATH (eg, export PATH=/usr/local/soylatte16-i386/bin:$PATH)

well as it says my friend is having lots of trouble with getting to newer enders on his mac he has read all the other topics about it but he said it doesn't work so if people could post in here how to he and I would be greatful xD
