Game Client modified by Ender

well that's odd

I re-downloaded and got in and looked around a bit. but after I shut down the client and tried to restart it again it's giving me the "connection refused: connect"

I don't think the auth server would be down if I was just in there from a fresh install?

(edit: and even stranger still is if I run the updater, then it opens up the client and I can play.)

It's normal behaviour of the updater to start the client - but you may create a run.bat yourself

if you still have your old Ender folder - drop the updater.jar into and run it - that way your belt files and run.bat is usable with updated client

I think ive done everything and its not working. The basic client allows me now to enter the game and play, but its unusually slow and if i try with enders, after i log and choose the character the game freezes and black screen etc...

Solved!!

Let me explain you:
When windows 8 was first released it had some problems with opengl. I know that because i couldnt play to Salem in my win8 partition but i could in my win7 one. After some patches the problem was solved. I was reading a loftar post about upgrading the GPU when i remembered this and finished upgrading windows. And its working again ^^

Ok so i downloaded the updater (and another zip file i dont know what it is) i ran it and everything works fine. But why cant i see the curios on the map? Is it because it is a new version or i need to do something?

What's the name of the other zip file? Normally you'd just DL the updater.jar ...

Tools -> Highlight Tab -> check what you want to be shown

It's in the options, you need to turn highlighting on. Keep clicking on new things until it works.
