This mod is very pretty, but makes my game run at 45 fps, which wouldnt be bad but it hitches a lot. I suppose it's just the limitation on java for high res textures, but is there a way to improve this? My hardware isnt an issue, 3.6 ghz overclocked i7 920 , gtx 580, 12gb of ram, etc.

You might try with different 3D settings in Nvidia CP i.e. Triple Buffering, Texture Filtering - Trilinear, Threaded Optimizing

(While i wonder why caring about FPS anyways as this is not an FPS) ;)

well, 40 frames per second would be fine in this kind of game. but it's just not pleasant if it's hitching some frames end up taking bigger fractions of a second and its kinda gross.

Thank you, i'll try those settings and report back.

you might try aswell with slightly bigger values in run.bat for Xms and Xmx

Xmx -maximum memory allocation pool for JVM's heap
Xms - initial memory allocation pool for JVM's heap

i dont have a run.bat file as as far as i can see, im using enders right now.

Tried the nvidia settings, forcing them on made it worse, forcing it off didnt seem to have a change.
