Audio Mod - Need Advice

I know it has been mentioned many times on this board, but I would really like to see an increased sound effect and music library for Haven and Hearth. This is why I have decided that I will try to create a mod that does just that. However, I have no experience with modifying H&H or really anything for that matter. Could anyone that has done some modding in the past point me in the right direction, or maybe even show me which files need to be changed specifically?

in short:
the audio files are in haven-res.jar (haven-res\res\sfx) - they are res file (containing midi) - you'd prolly need to make yourself familiar with a res util - and find out how to properly get midifiles into a res file and working ...besides having to create midis...

Thank you for the advice! I'll use some Google-fu and hopefully learn a few things about res, and I'm very familiar with midi as my main hobby is audio production.

The general midi soundbank (included in Java 7 JRE) \Java\jre7\lib\audio\soundbank.gm

I suggest to get Ender client source code to have a look at Audio.java, Music.java etc.

also it might help to google informations about jogg.jar and jorbis.jar libaries
