Please Ask Custom clients Simple Questions Here

Postby StuffedBoar » Wed Nov 13, 2013 2:51 am

1. Is there any way to make Union client highlight curios on the minimap?
2. Is there any way to prevent it from interacting with any of my game data (i.e. saving my logins and passwords in a file - inb4 it's not sent to archeolog)?
If those two points weren't an issue it would be a perfect client.

This question isn't related to game but...
1. It highlights curios as blue and orange squares IIRC.
2. I don't understand. You want your passwords sent to Apxeolog? Well, they're not sent.
union only saves your password for easier logins, not sure how this is an issue..
Also, be careful: just because a client doesn't save your passwords doesn't mean it doesn't send your passwords and vice versa. It's a safe client, a good one too but Enders is better.

1. No, it doesn't.
Pressing a "highlight different shit on the minimap" button doesn't affect the minimap at all.
2. If passwords are stored in a separate file it is much easier for a %scriptname%/a different program to get access to it and to send this data elsewhere, but I do agree with what you are trying to say here.

Ender's failure in removing unnecessary panels and Union's special features make these two clients incomparable for me (with exception of pt1, which is an only problem not allowing me to switch to Union completely, so I'd appreciate any comments on how to deal with it).

It doesn't?
Must be imagining this boar with check shit on minimap:

and without:

I would've found a flotsam too, to prove it, but I couldn't.
There's one thing worth noting, though:
It doesn't highlight noobish stuf like blueberry, stinging nettle, candleberry, etc.
It highlights mantle, toadstool, bluebell, glimmer, frog crown, edel, flotsam, not sure if anything else. And animals.

How Do I? subforum and Ask simple question is for ingame - WT is the right one for all custom client related stuff - Nooby already pointed that out

The point is that it's much easier to check through the different script files if there's something parsing the data.bin file(especially when they're that readable as the Union ones) than to check through a big bunch of .class files to check where the function(s) is(are) hidden and what it does (they do)(-> some Rizen versions with "authorisation check"). Not going more into details here...

minimap highlighting

if you would have checked through forums a bit more you would have found the WT Union thread and prolly this:
http://www.havenandhearth.com/forum/vie ... 10#p394969

so I'd appreciate any comments on how to deal with it

The sources for default, Ender and Union clients are open so you'd be able to fork and also recode the UI - a good attempt is
http://www.havenandhearth.com/forum/vie ... 27&t=32800 that olgeigracexD did

locking this - go to Ender and Union threads in future

Sorry, I was checking it on blueberries actually.
