How should I edit NONIMAGELAYER files?

Hello hello! I've managed to break down the res files to edit things, but it is not the images I wish to edit but the files that became NONIMAGEFILE When I open it with Notepad++ I can see what i want to change, however changing it makes my game crash when I open the interface in question that I've changed.

How can I safely edit these NONIMAGEFILE files?

Specificly I'd like to edit the skill description text for some of the skills.

Here is what I see when I open with Notepad++ or eclipse. Lets use the Rage skill as an example.

Rage allows you to initiate combat with other players.

Now my guess is that NULL NULL NULL is important information that for whatever reason is lost in translation. Would it be possible to put it back manually?

Also i know some text editors will put in random bytes at the very beginning of a file when you enable UTF-8 encoding (notepad++ does this), those random bytes need to be removed otherwise it'll error out the LyaerUtil.java this can be done with a hex editor, eventually i'll find a way around this.
