Clients(modded) adjusteble hot keys

While using one particular client for some time now, I have gotten used to its key settings. And while trying a other client I found it virtual impossible to use both* because they were using completely different hotkey's for the most used actions by me. (sorting stuff of course)
*) Client 2 was to unstable for we to completely switch to it.

It would be really nice if hotkey's setting where user adjustable. (Conf file)
Easier said than done of course. But still something that I think should be said.

I think this would be easily accomplished if someone made a nice universal key binding class and shared it. Most problems with the key bindings is just the difficulty of ease of editing cause in most settings its difficult to know in advance what kinds of keybinds will be needed.
