To DIS

Postby TheMap » Sat Feb 04, 2012 1:40 am

Today someone was hunting a bear near my small claim, I had a chat with him/her and they said they was from DIS and I wasn't wanted on the land. To be honest I will not leave, if you wish to raid me and take my q20 food and water barrels feel free. I would like to remain on the claim and play my hermit learning the game mechanics. I have only recently started playing and barely have any grasp on combat nor the FEP system. Here is a picture of the area which was spoken of. The person would not give a name all he/she said was DIS has 40 players and don't want me here. Although the DIS village claim is pretty far from where I am at I feel I am not encroaching on anything within your territory.

Ive been getting stolen from for the past few days that is why I put up the palisade, they took my boat a few cupboards and 2-3 floatsam along with about 15 other curios.

To make a long story short, I wish to stay where I am. I am a hermit and would like to learn this game and mind my own business.

If you live near dis, you're in their territory regardless, my advice to you would be to either, remain calm and continue your business, if you see someone with a bow, go inside and be friendly. Also, if you set up a village idol and make a crossroad outside, you could offer them the CR as a method of travel. Dis likes being able to get places quickly. Other than that, they may just feel like being dicks!

I'd be willing to setup a CR within my area for them to fast travel. But I suppose I will have to wait for them to respond. I am a peaceful hermit playing solo right now, im trying not to piss off the wrong people. Is DIS the Russian players?

As I said im new, I don't have tons of time to play and am learning the game a day at a time. The pavement is a road to the well so I can take the wagon over there to fill up my barrels. ;)

You have an open end on your palisade and you just insulted someone from Dis. You said you wanted to stay where you are? If you are lucky, you will find that by tomorrow, someone has built that palisade around your gate and locked you in (or is it not possible to build palisade along the bottom of the cliff there? I had an issue like that in w5, very annoying and unpretty :( ). I recommend planting some trees inside your palisade NOW THIS MINUTE. And also building and sealing a cornerpost on the open palisade (does not apply it it's not possible to build along the cliff) (you have sealed all your other cornerposts, haven't you?).

Of course, if Dis decide to put some effort into encouraging you to move, they could just shoot you before you ever see them (wear armour at all times, never ever afk outdoors, get better armour and more constitution) or they could palibash you (alt vault anything you particularly want to keep).

Welcome to the hearthlands, where might makes right. Sorry....

On preview - Dis is a/the major faction, and it's Russian speaking. It's not all the Russian players, and it has allies/associates who are not Russian speaking.

Also, why not just start again a very long way away, where you can make a non-ugly palisade and plan to build the well inside it? Logistically much nicer....

All my posts are sealed, the palisade is fine to me. Does everyone want square shaped standard ones? I mean I can always expand. Also if you see the stone I was planning on expanding out so the well was inside the palisade but as I said someone kept stealing my stuff and I wanted to lock it down as this was annoying. Oh well , either way ive got tons of time to kill if they take it out ill just rebuild somewhere else.
