I don't think you can take the actions of Wild West as an indication of what would happen if you did the same thing at Winterfell. Although I'm not supporting either side, I really hope this war is not decided by bugs or exploits.

In fairness, i do believe winterfell was among the people spamming alts, they'd probably deny it if asked so can't really say for sure. Also, this is exactly what happened when we tried to ram winterfell in the first few months of the world, we got alt spammed, our ram quite nearly got destroyed by the hordes of alts running at us constantly, so i think it's a pretty safe assumption that this is exactly what would happen if we tried to ram winterfell.

there is more of a victory here than you could have achieved. Some victories are not measured in how much you fill your bags with stuff, or how many people you killed. The fact remains you and your band of ass pirates claim dis/ainran cannot protect anything, and yet you tossed your friends in WW to the wolves. They have won a great victory that shows the rest of us that you cannot protect any of the people who ally themselves with you either. enjoy the rest of your day. winter always comes to an end.

oh i know about many of the russian battle strategies, and how they implemented them, and also how implementing them cost them valuable time and resources. war of the rats was one, scorched earth police was second, and not relying heavily on their allies was the third and most tragic mistake they made, even though they won, but by a margin of success, but lost many cities. you misunderstand my point, it doesnt matter if you saved them or not, you took your time doing so, and instead of coming full force you wimp out and resort to alt walling when there was just one guy camping the ram. yeah sure you rescued them, but they got in anyways. also you might want to look into other factions strategies in ww2. the nazis did the same thing, while the other countries sent out weak units to positions that were pointless, hitler rammed it home in where it mattered the most. of course no one can protect an entire grid plus market. but those are hollow victories compared to being shown you are no better than what you fight.
