Being new and not knowing much about clay nodes, how to mine, etc... isn't fun. It takes 300 bricks and 10 wrought iron to make the first cornerpost, to get things going. If your first cornerpost is going to be where your gate is located then it's going to take another 20 wrought iron and 200 bricks just for the corners, not counting the the gate which is another 75 bricks. So 300+200+75+ how long/wide your village is going to be. You also need 5 bars of steel for the gate. Making steel takes a lot of wood :(

You can always make your village bigger.

You are most welcome. :D The first items stolen from me were blueberries too, and i was just collecting them with no idea they could or couldnot be valuable for trading. You are way ahead of how I was.

Do you know where are you located on the map? (If so DO NOT post it here). Maybe you can just walk/boat somewhere to trade and, if your AGI/TWeariness level admits it, travel back using your HF, to get your w.iron/steel. Is not likely that with only 100 players on line in a huge world, using Enders radar and the option to hearthfire back, and paying atention your alt will be killed on the trip; and if so it is just a fresh spawned alt with a back pack, you dont loose anything valuable. A basic bwall would require more than one trip, since you need 30 w.iron and 5 steel for the gate as factnfiction101 said.

A village would offer you the chance to learn the game faster than on your own for sure, and can offer you the use a mine and installations. Might not be the better option talking about griefing, but it has interesting calls like making new friends in game, this can be a very lonely game. Ofc a village requires you do some work for it, that means time and effort that on your own you invest in whatever you want.

Moving from a place that has already been griefed can be a smart move, your attackers will surely come back for more. From what you say they stole, they are not rich players, so they will want all your stuff.
In some other place where you start fresh it will take some time for someone to find your settlement and you will have some days of peace that might buy you some time to build your bwall.

Update:

I tracked the perps hearthfire and it was placed inside a village called York. It covers a lot of ground. The village is huuge. It took quite some time to walk around it so I could be sure it was from that place. What such a huge village wants with my low q bone, blueberries and clay is beyond me. It looked like a pretty advanced settlement, and one that could provide it`s own. Under construction is a wall of statues on the south and east side, where the west side is nearly complete. Some of the bricks on the south side is also in a late stage of decay, so not sure what happened there. Who lives in the Village of York, anyone know?

The best way to protect your stuff is to hit the red X in the upper right corner and go outside.

Here we go again!

It`s been quiet so many months and then suddenly visitors two nights in a row. This time I saw them and could log off my farmer, who is still shaken after last nights danger. Logging on my talkative alt, I went to have a chat:

I told them I did not have anything of value, save some low q honey and some blueberries the first thief stole. They told me if I gave them 5 pearls they would let me go. Think I laughed a bit then. 5 pearls. Right. Then they wanted to know if I had food. That too is of course low q. I am not into politics, I only know DIS from forums but not this Gomorach they speak of. It`s probably BS though, my bet is on York since it seemed that village was under repairs. Looks like someone recently moved in there and are now building up. Scents will tell I guess.

It let me get a look at palibashing up close at least. It didn`t even take that long.
