I was warned of that before from a guy who you shot at in the same manner

The alt was an alt I was using to forage with, back when I was playing in October. I recently started playing again to play with some friends I know from IRC. We planned to start from scratch, but I cheated (I guess) and brought one of my old alts down to the area. Haha, Dill, Saxony, and Zach.

Anyway, on my trip down to that area I noticed so many abandoned villages/claims Can there be something to diminish the pclaims after so many months of not playing? Like if all the users of that village are no longer stepping foot there can it vanish after 2-3 months or so?
