Such a wonderful story!
This body holding me reminds me of my own mortality
Embrace this moment, remember, we are eternal
All this pain is an illusion

***Diary of Yolan, Founder of Brodgar***

Entry the Second

--------

My first surprise when I woke up today was that I woke up. Nobody had slit my throat while I slept on my wooden floor. My second surprise was that my newly replaced cupboards were still there. Things really must be improving. Then I walked outside and its blood everywhere as usual. And frogs. And also trousers for some reason. Dr. Talos waves at me and offers some fresh fish. 'Come and have a look at this' he says, taking me on a tour. We have still more immigrants. Some of them are building rather permanent looking structures, even palisades. Palisades inside a town? I wonder to myself if it is to protect themselves from outsiders, or from fellow Brodgarians. Here and there I see people bustling about. A group seem to be plowing and paving a large town square. Very civic minded. I find it suspicious. Then I hear some reports of various battles. It seems like the fiend who killed several people recently was tracked down and killed. Perhaps we can sleep safely in our beds from now on.

As we await our doom, we decide to make things look pretty for the killers. Blood on pavement looks better than dirt.

All clear. Looks like the warning of a raid was itself a rouse. The trickster was fiercely beaten up by our new protector, a mysterious stranger from a far off land.

 - The only thing wrong with this is there's not more of it! I love a good tale and your style of writing is excellent, I thought about coming and taking a look, but then more ppl posted - :P

I think i'll just stick to reading the installments. :)
